The technology sector remains a male-dominated industry despite growing numbers of women entering the field. In fact, only 26 percent of the computing workforce is made up of women – with only 4 percent comprised of women of color.

To help bridge the gap, companies, leaders and universities are encouraging women to study a science, technology, engineering or math subject known as STEM.
