Grant is a machine learning engineer on the Innovation team in New York City.
He designs, tests and deploys the artificial intelligence algorithms that drive the candidate matching models and services in development in the Innovation department. He also works on back end software engineering for these platforms.
Together with his team in the Data Science specialism, he has developed models that can surface high-quality candidates from unstructured search queries near-instantly. These tools sit at the heart of the Innovation team’s product offerings and stand to massively increase the efficiency of finding excellent candidates for GQRs recruiters across all sectors.
He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Johannesburg, South Africa, majoring in Genetics and Microbiology. He then moved to NYC to complete his Ph.D. in Virology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, graduating with a distinction in research. While completing his Ph.D., he co-authored the best-selling book Deep Learning Illustrated which was published by Pearson in 2019.
