Hugo Sugden

Hugo is a founding partner of GQR, a highly specialized global talent acquisition and advisory firm specializing in the procurement of rare talent to the world’s most challenging industry sectors. By specializing in Banking & Finance, Energy & Engineering, Technology and Life Sciences, GQR adds value to institutions that define the next phase of innovation: capital, natural resources, time and life.

Launched in London in 2009, GQR’s global reach spans Los Angeles, Austin, New York, London and Sydney with further office launches in the pipeline. Hugo co-manages more than 150 people, but is chiefly responsible for driving global performance through leadership coaching, innovating the firm’s Learning and Development platform and optimizing the global talent acquisition team’s delivery.

Hugo studied at the University of West England (UWE), majoring in geography and international tourism, following his passion for the travel industry and global economics. While at UWE, Hugo held positions within the real estate, marketing and sales sectors.

Hugo is passionate about the staffing industry, involved in both a NED and ED capacity across a few organizations across the industry. He also carries a strong appreciation for nonprofit organizations practicing in animal welfare, wildlife conservation and oncological research.
